I was looking on AllTrails for the total elevation on the hike today. I could not find that info. David mentioned you can get it in the app when you are hiking. I looked on the desktop version of AllTrails and could not find it.

It got me to looking on-line for a GPX-viewer to check if I could find out our elevation gain for the day. I had to stop before I found something that worked but I found this as a possible plug in to the WordPress page:

    GPX Viewer

How feasible is this Dave? Not sure how much work is involved.

Great hike today, talk to you guys later.

This is fantastic! Exactly how WordPress is leveraged, you think of a feature and then find a plugin 🙂

This one is a bit quirky and has a MapQuest back-end, I am looking at alternatives that use Google Maps as a back-end since we all use it.

I used OSMAND, it has total ascent. if you want to know any of them just ask me. Our last hike, Diamond Mountain was 924 feet of total ascent.

I think David was looking for total elevation, so a down then back up 100 feet would give you total 1,024.

Yes, I am giving total elevation. It gives total elevation. The number I sent above is total elevation.
